Shasta & Adam’s Wedding – Fayetteville TN

Even though I have been involved in MANY weddings, this was my first one being the photographer!  It was exciting and terrifying at the same time…  LOL!  In the end, none of the things I was so worried about ended up happening and the day went off without a hitch…  Unless you call, the park that we were planning on doing the portrait photos at being unavailable, a hitch ;-)  Ultimately, even though the location was up in the air for a few minutes, I couldn’t have asked for much more when Shasta figured out plan “B”.  Location “B” was wonderful and Shasta  just rolled with it!!!  Adam, hold on tight!  She is a keeper ;-)

Choose Your Moment

I get “super mom” comments ALL the time.  Well meaning women who praise me for all the things I do.  Don’t get me wrong, I am BUSY!  I have been blessed with the ability to be a stay at home mom and I have 3 awesome kids that keep me on my toes (especially the middle one! Yikes!!!) and have a lot of balls in the air ALL THE TIME!  The thing is, my strengths lie in some pretty easy to see areas.  I have a knack for anything crafty and domestic.  I also love to organize…  Ok, ok…  Enough already, this post is really not about me at all.

I was browsing Facebook a while back and stumbled across this quote:

Pretty amazing isn’t it…

You see, I am not in the habit of posting pictures of my house when it looks like a bomb went off, or videos of my children on their “challenging” days…  I love my kids but some days they make me CRAZY!!!  In fact, I would be very comfortable saying that there isn’t a day that goes by when I don’t have at least a few minutes of crazy.  It is just a part of my life, my crazy, beautiful, busy life.  In all of the craziness I decided a while back that I was going to be intentional about focusing on the sweet and beautiful moments that make me fall in love with being a mom over and over again.  As that “intentionality” has played out on Facebook over the past few years, I started to realize that what I portray online isn’t painting an accurate or “real” picture of my life…

So here is the deal.  My plan for this is to write about the “behind the scenes” footage.  The whining, the business, the chaos, the crazy, you will hear about it all.  You will also see the “Choose Your Moment” image.  The sweetness, the relationships, the quiet moments, the beauty that I want to remember for always.  I don’t know if any of this made any sense, but the next post should clarify anything that is fuzzy.  It is time to pull the curtain of Facebook away…

3 Years Beautiful – Madison Alabama

I can’t even tell you how exciting it is to see her grow while at the very same time how much I ache because I know the days are going by way too fast.  I look back at photos of her when she was younger and I can’t help but feel a little sad that I will never get those sweet days back :-)  She is the most beautiful mess of a little girl I have ever met and I can’t even remember what life was like without her.  She is my little girl and that is something I am immensely proud of.  I love you Peanut, to the moon and back!

She wanted a “castle cake”!!!  She has been talking about it for MONTHS!!!

When we asked her what she wanted for her birthday the ONLY answer she would give was “new slippers” (her old set were MUCH too small but she had still been cramming in her little piggies)

Her Great Grandma was the one who bought her the last slippers and she was the one who bought them for her this year as well.  They were by far her favorite present ;-)

I am such a sucker for Matilda Jane dresses!  Don’t get me wrong, she loves them too (because they are good for “spinning”) so between the two of us I end up splurging a couple times a year ;-)

And of course she had to go outside and try it out! (I LOVE having a girl)

As I looked through all of these all I could think of was that she was dancing with the sunlight…  I know I am her mom, but I just think she is GORGEOUS!

The Polum Family – Fort Abercrombie Kodiak Alaska

Such a beautiful and FUN family!  I have known them a long time and I honestly don’t know of a family that laughs more than they do.  It is infectious and you always feel good when you part company :-)

The Nymeyer Reunion – Fort Abercrombie Kodiak Alaska

This is MY family :-)  We all came back home to Kodiak Alaska for a full week of togetherness!!!  Lol ;-)  With this many of us together all at one time it would be a shame to not take a picture right???

I am in LOVE with these!!!  I love how intimate and sentimental Lifestyle Photography is.  I will someday specialize in this style :-)  It makes me feel something when I look at them.  Please leave a comment and let me know what you think ;-)

The Bahe Family

I love Kodiak.  It is where I consider myself “from” even though we didn’t move there until I was 18.  It is GORGEOUS and I am so glad I had the opportunity to do a little “work” while I was there :-)

The Hayes Family

Oh my!!!  It was such a beautiful day and the first day of fall :-)  The weather was to die for and the location was perfect.  We caught a bit of the golden hour at the end and the boys couldn’t have been cuter!!!  I hope you love them <3
