Oh goodness. This family. Love just drips off of them!

It’s no secret that I primarily photograph families with young children. I love the challenge, (keeping kids engaged and happy for an hour isn’t always easy) the honesty of emotion (kids don’t fake it) and how for the parents, having their kids close paints their own face with joy and tenderness. (Parenting is hard, and sometimes a reminder of the good is priceless.) It isn’t easy, but it is SO satisfying giving parents a tangible reminder of all the good and love and joy there is.

When I am shooting a group of adults, I sometimes get a little nervous. Not because I’m not “good” at it, but most of my jokes, prompts and games are geared towards 2-12 year olds. I have to come up with new material on the spot, and I am simply not very funny. lol

There was absolutely no reason for those nerves here though. Not only are they some of the sweetest people I have met in a long time, but they LOVE to laugh, and have a deep affection for each other that is just beautiful! I love that they chose to document their relationships in this way. Sometimes we forget that more than just young children change over time.
